What is alt text?

Instagram’s Alt Text is a keyword tag that is added to an image on Instagram to improve its discoverability in the search.

Why is this important?

Adding Alt Text to your posts will allow your post to be more discoverable on Instagram AND search engines like Google. You are essentially writing code for that picture so that the computer can read the image.

Use long tail keywords in your description to help your post get in front of the right people. BE CAREFUL — do not add too many or search engines will get confused.
