Taking a Break from Social Media
Let’s be honest, we all need a break from social media at some point.
Running a business requires so much time and attention that social media can become draining and the last thing you want to do with your free time.
I get it, I do. And I’m here to tell you that it is totally normal!
Even as someone who loves social media and has created a business around it, I love to unplug and clear my mind. It helps my mental health and keeps my creativity going strong.
I honestly step away from social media on Saturday & Sundays and I can tell you that my engagement and reach does not drop. Some people’s accounts perform better on the weekends in which case, take a Monday or Tuesday off!
If you are planning to take longer than a weekend away from social media, I recommend you do what is best for YOU. Social Media will still be there when you get back! When you get back from an extended break, expect engagement and reach to be low and you will need to work your way back up. It doesn’t mean that you will need to spend every waking moment on the app, but be prepared to maybe double post a couple days here and there.
At the end of the day, if social media is draining you, take a step back. Focus on yourself and your business.
And, if you can afford it, hire a social media manager.
