Creating a Weekly Marketing Schedule
A major stress-factor in every business is social media - how much time do we spend on it? How does it fit into the schedule? Is this necessary?
Of course social media is necessary in every business (hate to break it to ya). It is one way that customers check for a business’s authenticity to make sure it is not a scam and they also like to follow along on the journey.
As far as time and scheduling, I think it is important to put a time limit on how much time you spend on certain tasks, otherwise you will let social media completely devour you.
I thought about all the tasks that needed to be completed in a week and what an appropriate amount of time for each task would be and I developed a ten hour schedule. This is not meant to be completed in one day but over the course of the week, you should spend about 10 hours focused on only social media marketing.
Here’s how I broke it down:
30 minutes Live prep
30 minutes Live
I alternate Instagram and Facebook each week to change things up but stay consistent.
30 minutes weekly newsletter
60 minutes posting to social media
All profiles should be scheduled out so that you can do this in one sitting
60 minutes writing blog posts
I try to write 3 a week and get them done in one sitting
90 minutes researching inspiration
See what the trends are, newest TikTok craze, or just gather ideas so that you can shoot all your content
100 minutes engaging on Instagram
100 minutes engaging on Facebook
I spread this out over 5 days. Engaging with my followers and certain hashtags is a major key to growing my following
100 minutes creating original content
Gather all of your outfits, props, and have a plan to grind out all of the content.
10 hours a week may not be doable for you and that’s ok! You might not write a newsletter or blog so you can adjust my suggestions as needed for your business. At the end of the week, as long as you tried your best, you killed it.
