Planning Content Across Multiple Platforms

Many small business owners will use multiple social media platforms to allow their business to get discovered by their customer which is GREAT.

But.

Planning across multiple channels should be more strategic than posting the same content on the same day at the same time.

In many cases, you may have the same customer following you on Facebook and Instagram. If the content is the same on both accounts every day, your customer will be bored and you are missing an opportunity to showcase multiple pieces of content to peak their interest and remind them why you are AWESOME.

So here is how I stretch one piece of content across multiple platforms for weeks.

  1. I use a scheduling app that allows me to see my content in a very organized calendar. If you don’t have one, no problem! Just keep a written calendar so that you can keep track of each post and take advantage of scheduling within each platform.

  2. I look at what platform is performing best for me — Instagram. I then create all of my original content for Instagram. Newest pictures, captions, content all goes to Instagram FIRST.

  3. Then I adjust my content and post on Facebook exactly one week after Instagram.

  4. Then, I schedule my content to post on LinkedIn one week after Facebook.

My one piece of content covered three platforms in three weeks, allowing that information to continue to live and remind people about that specific offer, product, service, etc.

Give it a try!
