Owning and operating a small business takes physical strength to power through those long nights and mental strength to power through when results don’t happen instantly.

We get so much satisfaction when we get a lot of engagement on social media that when we don’t see that, we start to lose steam.

I get it, you want to see all your amazing ideas and hard work begin to take off like these other businesses who go viral on social media.

But what makes the viral businesses different than your business?

They focus on two important aspects of marketing:

  1. Put the extra work into video content. We know that every social media platform has begun to prioritize video content including Instagram, Facebook, and Pinterest. Video content can give viewers a behind the scenes look at how your product is made, making them appreciate your work even more. Creating video content helps sell your ideas while also spreading your brand awareness.

  2. Post photos that make an impact. These days, photos really need to speak to us in order to grab our attention. This includes great lighting, use of unique props and textures, dynamic angles, or even using real people to show how the product fits into someone’s lifestyle. Having the same style photo over and over becomes repetitive and does not peak someone’s interest.

They key to a successful marketing strategy is assessing your efforts and being able to pivot to try new things and find new people to reach.

Meaning, if Strategy A is performing low, first see what posts performed well. Then recreate similar content while sprinkling in new types of content to see how those posts perform.

Marketing strategies are a long battle of trial and error before finding what works perfectly for your business.
