4 Reasons Business Owners Get Stuck
Running a business these days looks A LOT different than it did ten years ago. In the age of social media, we get inspired to pursue new and exciting ideas to create a business but we also have reservations about putting ourselves out there.
I’m going to get really real with you and share 4 common reasons people get stuck when starting their business and how to move through them based on my own experiences as a business owner.
You don’t know where to begin
Starting a business (the legal way) is very intimidating. There’s calculating taxes and a lot of paperwork. Honestly, most people don’t know every step to running a business but they learn as they go. All you need is a little willingness to learn the logistics side to business.
It can become very frustrating and overwhelming but it is more important to continue to take steps forward rather than stay in one place waiting for the perfect plan to fall in place. Plans rarely go as you envision so taking action will bring you closer to your dream and goals. You believe other people know more
Yes, they probably do, but they have also been doing this a lot longer than you. They have made mistakes and learned so that they don’t continue to make the same mistakes that will cost them time and money. Keep focused on your path and be open to learning and seeing the lessons in these mistakes.
You believe other people are better than you
Rule number one to life if you ever want to be happy: do not compare yourself to others. Everyone started from the bottom, they just happen to be at a different point in their business than you. They are not you.
You will take your business idea, even though it is probably already out there in the world, and you will make it your own. Don’t try to be someone else, just be YOU.
You think nobody cares about your posts
You’ve created this killer content and you post it but it doesn’t get many likes. THAT’s OK. Your worth and value in your content is not measured in likes. You could reach ten people and that makes an impact in raising your brand awareness. Keep doing you and making great content, the people will come.
I know that most people want to see immediate results and sales but the harsh truth is that growth takes time. Consistency is key when building up your brand awareness.
