What is Social Listening?

Social Listening is when businesses are monitoring conversations on social media to evaluate trends happening not only around your business but around your industry as a whole, and using those insights to make better marketing decisions.

Medium and larger companies can use social listening to evaluate their brand health by hearing reviews and feedback about their products. You would also be able to engage with your customer directly and respond back to their needs or leave feedback.

Smaller businesses will find social listening most helpful when looking for industry insights and competitive analysis. Understanding what your competitors are doing, good or bad, can help you position your company to attract some of those customers.

If you don’t use social listening, you are leaving a lot of valuable information out on the table. Engaging in social listening will allow you to get a better understanding of what customers are expecting out of a company similar to yours while also directing you in way of trend forecasting.
